Panic attacks can be more than just annoying to you and the good of your body, they can downright take over your ability to relax and enjoy yourself. If you have panic attacks on a frequent basis the very fear of one striking at any time can infect even the moments when your not suffering. Many who have panic attacks frequently start to notice a frequency of panic incidents getting worse and this alone can cause an attack unprovoked.
Can You Stop Panic Attacks?
If you want to stop panic attacks the first thing you have to come to grips with is your thoughts and reactions. Many think that the only way to stop panic attacks is through medication that settles them down or helps them to relax, but the truth is you can stop panic attacks without medication. It's actually better that you don't use medication because although this may offer a temporary solution it can cause the problem to get worse.
The problem is quite often in the way you react to your situations and how you think about things surrounding an attack. Some people have an attack any time too many people are in a room- a sort of claustrophobic reaction happens and the mind starts to create things that aren't really there yet. Controlling how you think about things can be a significant step in the right direction. Most panic attacks can be controlled by simply re-thinking how you react to information. Fear causes a lot of the symptoms but the reality is that fear is simply an emotion that is fed by over thinking things in a negative way.
There are exercises that you can do to help an oncoming panic situation such as breathing exercises. Panic can set in when your reactions trigger thought patterns that will rob you of air. If you become afraid your breathing becomes strange and you may not get enough oxygen. This causes you to feel faint and your mind may interpret this as suffocation. Fear can cause adrenalynn to flood your body which contributes to your heart rate increasing. How you react to these things will determine the extent to which the panic attack can physically manifest. Remaining calm is contingent on controlling your thoughts which of course control your physical behavior.
There are courses available that you can take that will help you with all of these things. You will be surprised to find out that a lot of panic attacks are simply a situation of an undisciplined thought stream or over reaction to things your mind conceives.
