Coping With Panic Attacks Now

Panic attacks can be excruciatingly painful to live with. When you find yourself suffering from such attacks, it is important to seek help and treatment to cure your panic attacks.

Before resorting to curing the panic attacks, it is important to understand the cause of these attacks. Anxiety and panic attacks are a result of the mind. When the mind perceives certain situations as a possible threat or a danger, it sends signals to the body of Fight/Flight scenario with all the adrenaline rush as a means to protect you from the danger. Unfortunately, at times, it tends to overdo it and that ends in severe panic attacks and disorders.

Do not get so stressed about certain situations. Learn how to control your anger. Panic attacks are psychological in nature and can be avoided with self control and self honesty. By this I mean, having the ability to tell yourself you are having an anxiety attack then having the power to stop it. Panic attacks are not created by any chemical imbalance or anything like that. Relaxation exercises can also be a great way to reduce your stress levels and may even fend off a pending panic attack. Continually test your relaxation abilities to help build your skills in this area. Doing your relaxation exercises on a daily and consistent basis will reduce your overall stress level. Carve out a specific time of day that is just for you. It will soon become a time that you look forward to everyday.

Cognitive behavioral counseling has been very successful in helping patients overcome their panic attacks or other panic disorders. Counseling and medication can reduce the frequency of attacks. The reduction in panic attacks then reduces the anxiety of future panic attacks. The cycle of reduction continues and will improve the life of the person who had previously suffered from disruptive panic attacks.

Exercise is a great stress reliever for your body. Regular exercise will get your heart rate up and your endorphins moving. Your body will be able to get rid of toxins faster and relax easier when you stick to a regular exercise program. You do not need to run a marathon, just try to get your heart rate up at least three times per week for 30 minutes or more.

Drinking plenty of water will help flush toxins out of your body and eating healthy foods will keep your body operating at its best. Avoid high sugar and fat foods, as they will cause a build up of toxins in your body. Eating a balanced diet has always been a recommendation for people suffering from anxiety disorders, but it is generally a good idea for everyone!

Once you understand that it is a mental interpretation of situations that need to be changed, it is clear that, by training our mind to respond better to those situations, we can walk out of panic attacks. Medications and drugs can never be the right cure for panic attacks as it does not treat the root cause and delves on treating the physical symptoms. Further, it is very addictive and causes a lot of side effects and one might realize that more stress and anxiety is caused by these medications than the panic attacks itself.
