How To Build Your Home Gym

Home gyms are becoming more and more popular. People are converting their study rooms and part of their sharing space in their house to accommodate a home gym. Home gyms are preferred because they cut down on time, are convenient and provide privacy. Before you go to store and buy the home gym, figure out what kind of budget you have, what do you need for your exercising and how much space you have.

First and foremost do not cram your gym with all sort of needless equipment. In case you want to do cardio exercises, then something like a treadmill or an elliptical trainer would be best for you, even a Swiss ball will do. For a good strength training, a smith machine would be a great choice. If you want to build a decent gym for strength and cardio training, you will have to pay some good money. The minimum area needed to build a home gym is about 150 square feet. There should be some area to move around too. If you have a 200 sq feet area, you can include a Jacuzzi as well. Apart from the main machines like the treadmill, the power plate machines; you should also keep dumb bells, resistance bands and an aerobic box. Do not build your home gym in the basement, it's simply not recommended.

Flooring is also an important part while building a gym. You can choose between rubber flooring or a vinyl flooring. All impacts will be cushioned by rubber flooring, even falling. Unlike with carpeted floorimng and tiled floor, you will be able to stand, walk and run comfortably. Another advantage is that rubber flooring reduces the fitness equipment impact. Bear in mind that the rubber flooring also has advantages like easy cleaning and maintaining. Vynil flooring is easily cleaned, which makes it hygienic, and the noise is reduced to aceptable level.
